“‘GUMDROP’ is a super experimental song that combines a lot of elements of modern hip-hop with hyper pop and drum and bass, all genres that we enjoy,” said Brae. “Joey had the beat playing for fun during the album writing sessions without intending for it to become a full song. This is the only song where we did not write vocals before recording, and everything was recorded in one take. This song might be the greatest song ever.”
Forged by the sounds of giants like Beastie Boys and brimming with ‘90s references including Mortal Kombat, Nike Air and Super Mario, Joey Valence & Brae are bringing back a sound that is equal parts nostalgic and infectious – perfect for a wide-ranging group of both misfit teens and nostalgic adults. chaotic, anarchic live show overseas this month for their second UK Headline Tour that includes a London show at The Garage on August 24th, their second appearance at Reading & Leeds Festivals, a set at Boomtown Festival, plus opening for Limp Bizkit at Gunnersbury Park before returning to the U.S. for Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park on September 17 and an opening slot with LSDREAM at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on October 12.
