Buzzy UK artist SIPHO. has released his electric new single “THE CHEMICALS” from his upcoming debut album PRAYERS & PARANOIA out October 27 via Dirty Hit. PRESS HERE to listen to “THE CHEMICALS” which fuses SIPHO.’s love for rock and gospel to hone in on the substances we use to alter our states of mind while trying to find ourselves, escape monotony, and make sense of what it means to be human.
“Part of the process of ‘adulting’ is finding that balance of sticking up for yourself – but also not being too selfish, as well,” shares SIPHO. on the inspiration for the song. “We all value our own opinions so highly sometimes, even when we really shouldn’t. I had a lot more peace of mind growing up and I remember seeing people who couldn’t control certain tendencies about themselves and it’s only as I’ve grown up that I realize why. ‘THE CHEMICALS’ is about me realizing why people do things they know they shouldn’t be doing. It’s about everyday monotony, how the lack of variation can kill you, and all the different things we use to alter our state of mind.”
“THE CHEMICALS” follows the announcement of SIPHO.’s upcoming UK tour and the recent release of hypnotic lead single “SOBER” which is a brutally honest exploration of ego that unpacks its confident and brash nature while also touching upon its ability to shield vulnerability and foster ignorance. PRESS HERE to watch the music video for “SOBER” inspired by over-the-top expressions confidence. “I’m always drawn to these badass characters, like Action Bronson, or Jet Li,” shares SIPHO. “Someone that’s both feared and respected. But it shows their vulnerabilities. Some people end up in these places and they don’t know how they got there. And then you’re just lost and confused, left isolated by your power.”
