Pop Punk/Hip-Hop Singer-Songwriter CHLOE STAR Plays the “Fool” In Theatrical Music Video Illustrating Toxic Relationships

Lauded by Earmilk as one of 2023’s “acts to watch out for,” Los Angeles-based pop-punk & hip-hop infused singer-songwriter CHLOE STAR has released a cinematic music video for her new single “Fool,” which premiered November 2, via YouTube. The “Fool” music video was directed by Ricardo Emmanuel (Usher, Nike) and is the first of an anthology of upcoming videos that will be paired with songs from her recording session with producer Kevin Thrasher (Gwen Stefani, Blink 182, Machine Gun Kelly). “Shooting the music video was quite an experience because I was able to tap into a character that let me play as another version of myself,” reveals CHLOE. “I wrote this song while I was in a place where I thought every decision that I was making was foolish. Foolish, because I wasn’t given any instruction manual on how to move through life. I didn’t have any proper example set when it came to intimate relationships, friendships, or self-love when growing up, which kinda just set me up for failure. I cannot confirm or deny if the music video is based on actual events. I’ll leave that up to the viewer.”

Having both Indigenous and Persian heritage, CHLOE uses her distinct sound to amplify the voices of her bloodline. Her lush, electro-pop vocal stylings and trap-infused beats stem from influences including icons such as Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain as well as modern-day acts including Jessie Rayes, Billie Eilish, and Willow. CHLOE released her debut single “Element” in January and soon followed it up with “Straight Girls,” which shared her journey exploring her own sexuality and identifying as gay, which garnered over 64K YouTube views.
